Insurance and Risk Allocation Policy

How insurance responsibilities are allocated among Customers, Drivers, and the marketplace Platform.

Last updated: June 8, 2026Entity: The Delivery Truck, Inc.Marketplace platform terms
Important: The Delivery Truck is a technology marketplace. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, The Delivery Truck, Inc. does not provide delivery, moving, transportation, carrier, freight, household-goods, warehousing, packing, or labor services. Customers and independent drivers/service providers contract directly with each other.

No Platform Insurance Guarantee

The Delivery Truck, Inc. does not guarantee, provide, underwrite, broker, adjust, sell, or verify insurance coverage for any Customer, Driver, item, vehicle, premises, cargo, job, injury, or property damage claim. Any insurance references on the Platform are informational only.

Customer Verification Is Required

Customers are solely responsible for deciding whether to hire, select, approve, or continue working with any Driver. Before hiring or allowing a Driver to handle property, enter property, operate on premises, or transport an item, Customers should independently verify the Driver's identity, vehicle suitability, license status, insurance, permits, equipment, qualifications, experience, references, and legal authority to perform the requested work.

Any badges, profiles, document uploads, application status labels, star ratings, reviews, background-check references, insurance references, or marketplace status shown on the Platform are informational tools only. They are not warranties, endorsements, guarantees, or replacements for the Customer's own due diligence.

The Delivery Truck, Inc. does not guarantee that a Driver is licensed, insured, bonded, qualified, available, safe, suitable, lawful, or able to complete any particular job. Customers hire Drivers at their own risk and may decline, cancel, or stop work if they are not comfortable with a Driver or the Driver's documentation.

Driver Insurance Responsibility

Drivers are solely responsible for maintaining insurance appropriate for the jobs they accept, including legally required auto coverage and any commercial, cargo, general liability, occupational accident, workers' compensation, helper, or moving-related coverage required by law or requested by Customers.

A personal auto policy may not cover commercial delivery, cargo, helpers, loading/unloading, or damage to transported property. Drivers must confirm their own coverage before accepting work.

Customer Property Risk

Customers bear the risk of selecting a Driver and deciding whether the Driver's insurance is sufficient. Customers should consider separate insurance or a specialized licensed provider for valuable, fragile, irreplaceable, regulated, oversized, complex, or high-risk items.

Claims Process

If a claim occurs, the Customer and Driver should exchange information and contact their insurers. The Delivery Truck, Inc. may preserve and share relevant job records where legally permitted, but does not adjust, decide, pay, or guarantee insurance claims.

No Waiver of Law

Nothing in this policy limits liability that cannot be limited by law, but all waivable claims against The Delivery Truck, Inc. are subject to the Terms of Service limitations, releases, and indemnities.
