Safety expectations for Customers, Drivers, helpers, support staff, and marketplace users.

Important: The Delivery Truck is a technology marketplace. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, The Delivery Truck, Inc. does not provide delivery, moving, transportation, carrier, freight, household-goods, warehousing, packing, or labor services. Customers and independent drivers/service providers contract directly with each other.

Shared Safety Duty

Every Customer and Driver is responsible for safe, lawful conduct. The Delivery Truck, Inc. provides marketplace tools and may publish safety rules, but does not supervise jobs in person or control the physical performance of delivery services.

Customer Safety Responsibilities

  • Verify Driver identity, insurance, license, vehicle, helpers, and suitability before hiring or allowing work to begin.
  • Provide accurate item dimensions, weight estimates, photos, access conditions, stairs, elevators, parking, gate codes, and hazards.
  • Clear walkways, secure pets and minors, obtain permission for pickup/drop-off, and protect floors, walls, or property if desired.
  • Do not ask Drivers to handle illegal, unsafe, misrepresented, hazardous, or prohibited items.

Driver Safety Responsibilities

  • Decline any job that cannot be completed safely, lawfully, or within Driver's equipment/insurance capability.
  • Use safe driving, loading, securing, lifting, unloading, and placement practices.
  • Comply with traffic, parking, premises, occupational safety, vehicle, insurance, and transportation laws.
  • Use helpers, straps, dollies, trailers, ramps, padding, and protective equipment where appropriate.
  • Immediately report injuries, property damage, cargo loss, threats, fraud, or safety incidents.

Prohibited Safety Conduct

  • Driving under the influence, reckless driving, or unsafe vehicle operation.
  • Harassment, threats, discrimination, violence, weapons misuse, stalking, or intimidation.
  • Entering restricted areas without permission.
  • Handling hazardous materials, live animals, people, medical waste, illegal goods, firearms, explosives, or regulated items unless expressly lawful and allowed.
  • Bypassing Platform payment or communication for active jobs where it creates safety or fraud risk.

Incident Records

The Platform may preserve messages, photos, GPS events, timestamps, status updates, support reports, and admin notes for incidents, insurance, legal compliance, fraud review, quality control, and dispute analysis.

Emergency

For emergencies, call 911 or local emergency services first. Platform support is not an emergency response service. Safety reports may be sent to safety@thedeliverytruck.com.
